About Me
Payal Patel
Marriage & Family Therapist
Therapy can be an intimidating journey for many people who are facing challenges in their lives, my goal is to provide support, understanding and empowerment throughout this journey. I have always had a passion in wanting to help individuals have better relationships with their families and significant others. While completing my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I learned different techniques and interventions through my internship at Family Service League. It was at FSL, where I felt extremely confident in my journey to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have had the opportunity to work with clients of diverse backgrounds, genders and races with a variety of issues such as marital conflict, infidelity, sexual abuse, childhood abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief as well as stress. I also am trained in multiple therapeutic models as well as other modalities such as psychodrama.
While I was born and raised in the United States, I am from India. It has always been a long-term goal of mine to provide counseling services in my native language Gujarati and Hindi. Breaking the societal stereotypes and norms in my culture has always been a passion of mine.
